Vanessa Ama Serwah Kofinti holds a Bachelor of Psychology and a First Class Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from University of Ghana acquired in 2017 and 2021 respectively. She was called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2023.
Vanessa worked with Eight Geeks @ Law, a full-service technology law firm, as a pupil where she gained experience and training as a technology lawyer. She focused primarily on commercial advisory, corporate restructuring, due diligence and licensing for a variety of technology clients including Smile Identity, OZE Technologies, Uber Ghana, Farmio, MDP Ghana, etc.
Vanessa has also worked as a Compliance and Legal Manager for Swipe Technologies a fintech formally operating in Nigeria and Ghana where she headed the ISO compliance, jurisdictional regulatory and licensing needs of the company, creation of credit reports on customers, customer and partner onboarding and KYC evaluations.
She has acquired experience within the financial technology regulatory and licensing landscape in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya and particularly advisory services for the application of various Bank of Ghana licensing regimes.
Vanessa is currently an Associate with the Credit Advisory, Fintech and Financial Services Team and has interests in data protection, crypto currency, regulatory advisory, commercial and corporate governance and intellectual property in the technology law landscape in Ghana and Africa.
Vanessa enjoys traveling, cooking, reading African literature and learning languages.
