NANA AMA K. STEPHENS obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Reading (UK); and a Post Graduate Diploma in the Bar Vocational Course, from the University of West of England (UK). She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2008; and to the Ghana Bar in 2009.
Nana Ama has over the past fourteen years acquired a wealth of experience in credit-related matters, having adviced many clients in both the financial and business sector. Her areas of competence include debt recovery litigation, debt restructuring and management, legal auditing, securitization, and asset recovery.
Nana Ama is a member of the Ghana Association of Restructuring & Insolvency Advisors (GARIA). She has been practising as an Insolvency Practitioner since 2021 and has acted on behalf of various companies and individuals.
As the head of the Credit and Debt Recovery Team, Nana Ama together with her team, managed the due diligence for the merger of two significant financial institutions in Ghana and has recovered substantial debt portfolios for several prestigious banks and businesses. She has represented clients in the High Court, Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court. Nana Ama is well placed to handle all complex matters in her area of expertise in a responsive and engaging manner
Nana Ama is currently an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (CIArb); and sits on the Board of a very notable Financial Institution as a Director.
